Hibernia Woolen Mills Carpet

Welcome to Hibernia Woolen Mills, where traditional styling, a dedication to quality, and outstanding customer service all combine to define us as a premier supplier of superior wool carpets for high end designers and consumers.

WOOL CARPET "GOOD ENOUGH FOR MOM"...

At  Hibernia we like to say that we design and engineer superior quality wool carpet "Good Enough for Mom"... This simple slogan has been our focus and guiding beacon since our company was founded as a partnership of 5 carpet professionals with over 185 years of combined experience in the high end carpet trade. With backgrounds in fiber and yarn, carpet design, dyeing, tufting, and marketing our team of owners brings a finished product to you that will satisfy the toughest performance requirements while providing unequaled elegance and style. Today we continue our consistent dedication to supplying only products that we would put in our own families' homes, and thanks to that focus Hibernia Woolen Mills has become a leader in the wool carpet industry.

ONLY THE WORLD'S FINEST WOOLS GO INTO HIBERNIA WOOLEN MILL'S PRODUCTS...

We are proud to offer wool products that utilize only the finest wools in the world. Every Hibernia carpet is made from yarns that are spun in the old world tradition from Virgin New Zealand and British wool fibers chosen for their specific performance enhancing characteristics. Our wools and yarns insure that your carpet will provide unequaled beauty and performance.

ONLY TRIPLE SCOURED YARNS AT HIBERNIA...

Our dedication to the highest possible quality standards insures that we only use wool yarns that have been "Triple Scoured". Scouring the final product is a costly and time consuming process that is not utilized by a lot of mills. Scouring finished yarn washes the fibers clean of spinning oils and natural wool grease that can attract dirt, and this hot water process sets the twist in the yarn. This insures that Hibernia products outperform trade standards for soiling, and helps to develop and lock in the natural crimp in each fiber that gives properly manufactured wool carpet its exceptional crush resistance and floor performance. Less costly wool products usually have not been through this process, and while they offer low price they provide poor performance and soil resistance.

HIBERNIA CARPETS ARE "ENGINEERED" FOR PERFORMANCE AND EASE OF INSTALLATION...

Every Hibernia Woolen Mills product is designed with an obsession for floor performance, and engineered for ease of installation. We know that the final step in insuring customer satisfaction is fitting the carpet to the room and Hibernia will not offer any product that is an installer's nightmare. There are a number of wonderful "looks" that we don't have in our line, and it is because they are very difficult to install correctly without significant problems.

SATISFIED CUSTOMERS NATIONWIDE...

From beach front cottages in Cape Cod to hilltop Victorians in San Francisco, our customers share a common faith and trust in Hibernia's high quality standards and dedication to service before, during, and after the sale. Choose Hibernia with confidence and enjoy the luxury, performance, and comfort that our fine carpeting will bring to your home.

With proper care your Hibernia carpet will give you many years of enjoyment and comfort. Wool carpet is like many other natural products, which become more beautiful with age and use. Proper vacuuming with a good adjustable upright vacuum on a regular basis is essential. You need to make sure you set your vacuum so that the brushes barely touch the face of the carpet. Wool carpet will shed immediately after installation. This is normal and the shedding will dissipate within a short period of time with proper vacuuming. Your vacuum cleaner dust bag should be emptied when half full. Your vacuum will remove foot borne dry soil. For accidents and spills that occur please refer to our information chart for cleaning your Hibernia wool carpet.

Wool Performance

  • Walk off mats are suggested at entrances and adjacent to hard surface flooring.
  • All seams must be sealed with appropriate seam sealer to prevent edge raveling.
  • Conventional installation over firm flat cushion is recommended.
  • Chair mats are recommended under office chairs with roller casters.
  • Shades may vary from yarn to yarn lot.
  • Pattern match is guaranteed to be within recognized industry standards. (Carpet & Rug Institute publication #104.)

TAKING CARE

Regular carpet cleaning is essential to maintain the appearance of your wool carpet. Use a good vacuum, preferably upright and with an adjustable beater bar. (Be sure the beater bar is not worn .)
